Maranta
Commonly known as a prayer plant, the Maranta is native to tropical Central and South America. They love to trail but can also be grown up a cane. Not only do they have striking leaves but they flower too. This is the Silver band with an almost feather like pattern and not as common as the Fascinator.
How to care for your Maranta
Water: Watering about once a week and then allowing to dry to about half way down is best.
Light: Maranta grow best in bright light, but will tolerate shade. If exposed to direct light, their leaves will fade in colour intensity and often develop blotches or patches.
Humidity: Brown leaf tips indicate that humidity is too low, they love a mist or a bathroom and prefer rain water.
Temperature: They enjoy warmth, about 20 degrees C.
