Cryptanthus- Miniature earth star mix

Miniature Earth Star plant (Cryptanthus Bivittatus) in bright pink/red or green tones. As part of the bromeliad family which love humidity, these make great additions to a terrarium. Due to its mini size, this bright plant is suitable for a terrarium but is equally as suited as an addition to your house plant collection at home. 

They have pretty sharp edges so be careful when handling them and make sure they have plenty of natural bright light to keep the colour strong. 

How to care for your Earth Star

Water: Watering about once a week and then allowing to dry to about half way down is best. In winter they can dry a bit more but definitely don't fully dry out or over water. 

Light: Grown best in bright indirect light, but will tolerate some direct sun. If exposed to shade, their leaves will fade in colour intensity and often develop blotches or patches. 

Humidity: Brown leaf tips indicate that humidity is too low, they love a mist or a bathroom and prefer rain water.

Temperature: They enjoy warmth, about 15+ degrees C.
