Alocasia are some of the most attractive houseplant you could own. Native to tropical regions of South Asia there are about 90 species.
Simply stunning foliage, the leaves of the Alocasia are narrow with bright veins. They prefer a bright spot but keep out of direct sun and love humidity. So bathrooms work well.
Water: Letting these dry to the touch but never fully is best. Bottom watering can often be beneficial to keep water from pooling around the delicate stems causing rot.
Light: Bright indirect light is best. Too much sun and the leaves will scorch, but too little and it will become leggy and sparse.
Humidity: Loves higher humidity but this can be achieved with a mist if it can’t be placed in a bathroom.
Temperature: Average room temperatures but nothing below 10’c.
