Nepenthes-Monkey Jar
Monkey Jars are officially known as Nepenthes. While you've probably never heard of this genus, you've undoubtedly heard of carnivorous plants. Well, that's exactly what Nepenthes is. These climbing plants grow in tropical rainforests like those found in Borneo. They can easily grow up to fifteen metres high. (Don't worry, you won't have to re-roof your house when you buy Monkey Jars!)
How to care for your Monkey Jar-
Water: Leave standing in water source, preferably rain water or filtered or distilled water if not available. TAP WATER IS NO NO FOR THESE PLANTS
Light: They do well in bright light and can tolerate some full sun. Low light is not good and can kill the leaves and plant.
Humidity: Lover of a little humidity, great in a terrarium or bathroom window. Mist a little water into the jars from time to time.
